Breeding, data and marketing under one roof
Since 2012 we have been breeding the world's most sought-after beef cattle breed in Austria's Mostviertel region. What sets us apart from pure genetics traders: we do not only sell semen and embryos, we breed, finish and market the cattle ourselves. Every portion that leaves our house rests on a database of more than 1,000 documented carcass results – we know how our genetics actually perform on the rail, not just on paper.
Around the farm a network of 26 partner farms with more than 900 Wagyu cattle has grown. Through our central marketing roughly 250 animals are sold from it every year, and we distribute the beef ourselves via wagyuhof.com. That closed loop is what keeps our breeding decisions honest.
Our core strengths
Documented breeding results
With more than 1,000 documented carcass results we maintain one of the most extensive databases on Wagyu beef quality in Europe. Marbling, dressing percentage and daily gain feed straight back into our mating recommendations.
Wagyu Fullblood
100% Japanese genetics, traceable back to the Japanese herd books. DNA-verified and registered. All available sires are listed on our Wagyu semen page.
Crossbreeding programme
Systematic crossing with local cattle breeds – from F1 through to F4 (Purebred status). Particularly straightforward for dairy herds: easy calving, considerably higher calf value.
Network & marketing
26 partner farms with more than 900 Wagyu cattle under our breeding supervision. Around 250 animals are marketed through the network every year.
Available genetics
- Wagyu semen – premium genetics for artificial insemination, conventional and sexed, minimum order 20 portions
- Wagyu embryos – for embryo transfer, individual quote
- Breeding stock – calves, heifers and cows on request
- Wagyu beef & breed knowledge – marbling, finishing and what the genetics deliver
- Consultation – free breeding advice, also for newcomers and dairy herds
Outside the DACH region we work with a minimum order of 20 portions, because certificates, testing and shipping are charged per consignment and not per portion. Every quote is prepared individually together with our export partner Genetic Austria.
Our sire: Quality Wagyu Homerun ET
Homerun is the centrepiece of our breeding programme and the basis of our current embryo matings. He combines exceptional marbling transmission with strong figures for growth and crossbreeding suitability – a combination that is rare in this form.
Quality Wagyu Homerun ET
BFI (Wagyu Breeder Index) rates suitability for purebred breeding, FTI (Fullblood Terminal Index) the finishing performance of fullblood progeny, F1TI (F1 Terminal Index) the suitability for crossing onto other breeds. Sitting in the top band on all three means Homerun works in a purebred herd build-up as well as in a commercial crossbreeding programme.
Breeding values as published by the Australian Wagyu Association. Date of evaluation available on request.

Frequently asked questions
The essentials about Wagyu breeding at a glance
How much does Wagyu semen cost?
Our minimum order is 20 portions. Export certificates, veterinary documentation and shipping are charged per consignment, not per portion.
Above that threshold the price per portion falls steadily: noticeably from 50 portions and most at 100 portions and above. Every quote is prepared individually together with our export partner Genetic Austria. See all available sires on our Wagyu semen page.
What is Wagyu Fullblood?
Wagyu Fullblood means 100% Japanese Wagyu genetics with no crossbreeding whatsoever. The pedigree is DNA-verified and traceable back to the Japanese herd books.
Do you ship internationally within the EU?
Yes. We ship semen, embryos and breeding stock across the European Union and to selected destinations worldwide. Within the EU a single standardised health certificate applies, which keeps the process straightforward.
What do F1, F2 and F3 mean in Wagyu?
F1 = 50% Wagyu, F2 = 75%, F3 = 87.5%. From F4 onwards (93.75%) the animal is classified as Purebred. Crossbreeding is usually done with Fullblood semen on local suckler or dairy cows.
How much does a Wagyu embryo cost?
Embryo prices depend on the mating and the grade. We quote every enquiry individually, including certificates and shipping to your destination country. Details on our Wagyu embryos page.
What does BMS mean in Wagyu?
BMS (Beef Marbling Score) rates the marbling on a scale from 1 to 12. Wagyu regularly reaches BMS 8 to 12.
How long does it take to a market-ready animal?
Around 280 days of gestation plus 30 to 36 months of finishing – roughly three to four years from insemination to slaughter. That is why the choice of genetics at the very beginning is the most important decision in the whole chain.
Do you also market the finished animals?
Through our central marketing we sell around 250 Wagyu cattle from our partner network every year and distribute the beef ourselves via wagyuhof.com. For international customers this mainly means one thing: we know exactly how our genetics perform on the rail. Marketing support outside Austria is agreed case by case.
Is Wagyu suitable for dairy herds?
Yes, this is one of the most common entry points. Wagyu semen on dairy cows produces F1 calves with a considerably higher value than conventional beef-on-dairy crosses – with easy calving thanks to the low birth weight of Wagyu calves.
